Recreational cottage

Near the pond, in the middle of the woods, where the foxes say goodnight and the silence is so deep that time seems to stand still for a moment, there is a small holiday cottage. Hidden among the trees on the outskirts of Lechotice, this charming abode looks like something out of a fairy tale. Although its dimensions are modest, its charm is immeasurable. The proposed volumetric design respects the surrounding buildings, and the materials have been carefully chosen so that the cottage blends in perfectly with its natural surroundings.

The original brief was to design a new roof with an attic and minor modifications to the internal layout. However, the beauty of the site demanded much more, and so only the natural stone masonry of the first underground floor remained from the original building. We then set about designing not only the building itself, but also the surrounding garden, which became an integral part of this magical place.
